Chemical genetics (including DREADDs, receptors that are activated by particular drugs) is a technology to apply genetic methods to modify biological macromolecules so that they can recognize small molecules which were previously unrecognizable. Therefore, cell activities can be regulated by combining small molecules. For example, receptors that are only activated by specific drugs (Designer receptors exclusively activated by designer drugs, DREADDs).
By using AAV vectors to express modified G protein-coupled receptors in mice, and then injecting corresponding chemical molecules, the functions of specific mouse cells can be changed.
PackGene provides AAV chemical genetic vectors, which can be directly, conveniently and efficiently applied to animal experiments. Each spot fast service provides a complete quality inspection report.
