Suzhou Ribo Life Science and its subsidiary Ribocure Pharmaceuticals have submitted a Phase 1 clinical trial application in the European Union for RBD3133, an siRNA therapy targeting INHBE (inhibin subunit beta E), with overweight and obesity as the intended indication.
RBD3133 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence a specific gene, part of the growing effort to push RNA medicines beyond the liver’s best-established targets. Obesity is an unusually large market for an RNA approach, most of which have focused on rarer, liver-expressed targets.
The filing extends a China-based RNA-therapeutics developer’s reach into Europe and adds to the pipeline of genetic medicines moving toward the clinic.
