An ASCB | EMBO Meeting: CELL BIO 2025 (Philadelphia, PA, Dec 6–10)
CELL BIO 2025 is the annual meeting of the American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB) and the European Organisation for Cell Biology (EMBO). The premier international meeting is dedicated to the fundamental unit of all life: the cell. This event serves as a critical forum for sharing groundbreaking research, exploring advanced technologies, and fostering global collaborations across a multidisciplinary scientific community.
The ASCB was founded in 1961 by pioneers of electron microscopy—including Keith R. Porter and George Palade—who recognized the need for a dedicated society to study the cell. Since its inception, the ASCB has expanded far beyond its original scope, embracing advancements in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, and bioengineering.
Today, the ASCB leads a global community of over 6,000 members. The meeting reflects this diversity, drawing together researchers whose work links fundamental cell biology to clinical medicine and pharmacology.
